I was happy to discuss the BP oil disaster civil trial on the Melissa Harris Perry show this past weekend. I had been reporting on this issue and messaging around it literally since the day it started. But for the past year I have been reporting exclusively on voting rights issues. In fact, I couldn’t attend the BP civil trial in New Orleans because I was in D.C. covering the Shelby v. Holder Voting Rights Act hearing at the US Supreme Court. In this clip, I attempted to synthesize both issues.
